Covid rules on your trip to Tesco Ireland, Lidl, Aldi, Supervalu and Dunnes after massive changes

With Covid restrictions finally being relaxed, more and more people are heading out.

Bars, clubs and restaurants will be booming as the country celebrates later closing times.

But has the new rule change affected Covid rules in supermarkets?

Shops across Ireland will continue largely as they have done throughout the pandemic, with customers legally required to wear masks while on the premises.

Dunnes, SuperValu, Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Aldi and Lidl all state on their websites that shoppers have to wear masks.

Aldi say: "Face coverings are mandatory for staff and customers in all stores, with exceptions for those with exemptions only."

Masks are also mandatory in shops like Smyths and Argos.

And anyone refusing to wear a mask could be fined.

Citizens Advice say: "If you do not wear a face covering (or ignore a request to wear one) without a reasonable excuse, you can be fined €80. You must pay this fine within 28 days.

"If you do not pay your fine within 28 days, you will be summonsed to court where you may get: A fine of up to €1,000, up to one months' imprisonment, both a fine and imprisonment."
