If you have received a positive coronavirus PCR test, you may be eligible for a Covid recovery certificate.
With positive cases of the virus on the rise, with increasing cases of the Omicron variant, the certificate is the next step for those recovering.
Recovery certificates are available after you have finished self-isolating and for up to 180 days after taking the test, including a test taken for international travel purposes.
The certificate will only be valid for up to 180 days after the date of the positive PCR test, NI Direct has confirmed.
A spokesperson added: "For entry to UK premises where evidence of Covid-19 is required you cannot use the certificate until 30 days after you tested positive.
"For international travel, you should check the entry requirements for your destination, before undertaking any travel.
"The number of days from which a recovery certificate is accepted, after you have tested positive, may vary.
"You should also check any restrictions in place on returning to the UK from travel abroad."
How do I apply for a Covid recovery certificate?
This is a two-step process.
You must first create an account with NI Direct which will take you through identity verification.
Secondly, apply for a certificate using this link.
When it asks if you are double vaccinated, please state ‘no’. It will give you an option to apply for a recovery cert. This certificate is valid for domestic use in NI and international travel where your destination accepts recovery certification as part of their entry criteria.
