PUNE: The number of people recovering from Covid-19 climbed to 1,332 as compared to 728 new infection in the Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) on Monday.
A jump in recoveries pushed down tally of active cases in the region to 8,908 on Monday evening. Of these, as many as 4,376 patients were in home isolation.
A report released by district health officer Bhagwan Pawar stated that over 21,400 samples were tested for the infection on Monday. The region’s tally of positive cases increased above 11.21 lakh on Monday evening, while its discharges reached 10.93 lakh.
As many as 12 patients succumbed to the infection in PMR on Monday. These included seven deaths from the rural areas, four from the PMC limits and one from the Pimpri Chinchwad area. The region’s tally of deaths increased to 18,750.
