PUNE: The Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) on Friday added 597 new cases of Covid-19, while 1,351 patients recovered from the infection.
The daily Covid-19 cases reported a drop from Thursday’s addition of over 900 patients.
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) areas added 318 new cases, while the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation limits reported 152 cases. The rural areas, councils and cantonments recorded 127 cases, collectively.
Among the day’s discharges, around 700 patients were declared cured in the PMC limits, while 334 patients were declared cured in the PCMC limits. As many as 317 patients were discharged from the rural areas, councils and cantonments.
A report released by district health officer Bhagwan Pawar stated that four more patients died in the region because of the Covid-19 infection on Friday. These included one death from the PMC limits, two from Pimpri Chinchwad and one death from the rural parts.
As many as 11,309 samples were checked for the Covid-19 infection in the region on Friday.
The tally of active patients further dropped to 5,274 on Friday evening.
As per the DHO’s report, 747 patients were being treated at various hospitals, while 4,527 patients were in home isolation.
