Covid: Pune Metropolitan Region adds 22 new infections in 24 hours

PUNE: The Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) on Monday registered 22 new Covid cases, with areas under the Pimpri Chinchwad civic body registering the maximum (nine) new infections.

Areas in the Pune civic limits logged eight new cases. A report released by the health department of the zilla parishad stated that 1,725 samples were tested on Monday. Thirty Covid patients recovered during the day.

In Mumbai, civic chief Iqbal Chahal said though a fourth wave might hit the state capital between July and September, but it would be milder than the third wave and would not have any impact on public health system or necessitate lockdowns.
