Covid passport advice for those travelling to and from Northern Ireland

Those travelling from Great Britain and Europe should still be able to have their Covid passports registered at hospitality premises.

Some people who have recently come to Northern Ireland from other parts of the UK have said they have been told that their Covid passes from those countries wouldn't be accepted here.

However, the Department of Health has said this should not be the case and Travel QR codes from other UK nations, the Republic of Ireland and the wider EU will still be accepted by the COVIDCert Check NI app.

Meanwhile, photographic ID will have to be shown with all international travel QR codes.

A Department spokesperson said: "Travel QR codes from other countries can be accepted by the COVIDCert Check NI app.

"This is true for other UK nations. It is true of EU countries and other countries on the EU public key infrastructure including RoI. It is true for any country that the FCDO has established a bilateral agreement with.

"It is necessary to present photo ID with international travel QR codes."
