Covid NI: Six further deaths and 1,259 positive cases reported

Six further coronavirus-related deaths have been reported in Northern Ireland on Monday.

A further 1,259 positive Covid cases have also been recorded.

Due to the bank holiday weekend, Department of Health will not update the official Covid-19 dashboard until Tuesday, August 31.

In a tweet on Monday, the DoH also stated that a total of 2,442,855 vaccines have been administered in Northern Ireland to date.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland's green list for travel has added seven further countries as of Monday morning.

As of 4am this morning, Azores, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania and Switzerland were all moved to NI's green list.

This change means that any passenger travelling from these countries does not need to quarantine.

However, anyone travelling to Northern Ireland from a country on the green list must provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test result taken up to three days before departure and book and pay for a day two Covid-19 PCR test.

They must also complete a UK passenger locator form within 48 hours of departure.

Currently, there is no requirement to self-isolate or book a day eight Covid-19 PCR test if travelling to Northern Ireland from a country on the green list.
