Covid NI: Six further deaths and 1,001 positive cases reported

Six further coronavirus-related deaths have been reported in Northern Ireland on Sunday.

The death toll from the Department of Health now stands at 2,705.

The fatalities are said to have occurred in the past 24 hours.

A further 1, 001 positive Covid cases have also been recorded in NI today.

The full dashboard is not set to be updated until Monday, November 1, but in a tweet, the Department said that 2,659,609 vaccines have been administered in total.

Meanwhile, there was a further easing of coronavirus regulations from noon on Sunday.

These include the reopening of nightclubs for the first time in 19 months and the end of social distancing rules for hospitality.

From then, the need to be socially distanced will also move to guidance, with people asked to minimise face-to-face contact.
