The Department of Health has today reported one further coronavirus related death.
According to the latest update from the Department, the death occurred within the current reporting period.
The death toll in Northern Ireland now stands at 2,130, said the DoH.
Wednesday's dashboard also reports a further 97 positive cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of positive cases to 118,573 since the start of the pandemic.
Over the past seven days, the Department said 780 individuals have tested positive in Northern Ireland.
There are currently 70 Covid-19 confirmed patients in hospital and eight in intensive care.
Meanwhile, a Belfast GP whose patient died from suspected blood clots following the AstraZeneca jab has outlined some of the symptoms people should be aware of.
Dr Michael McKenna says the young woman's tragic death is now being investigated by MHRA and NI's Coroner for any possible link to the vaccine.
He told Belfast Live he knows only of one such death being investigated in Northern Ireland as it "sadly affected my patient".
"I am assuming she is one of the three deaths in the under 30s across the UK. It just an extremely unfortunate set of circumstances," he added.
He said MRHA and the Coroner had been notified "to have a proper investigation done for the purposes of resolution for her family".
As heart breaking as her loss has been, he still believes the benefits of taking the AstraZeneca jab far outweigh the risks.
