Covid NI: One further coronavirus related death and 108 cases recorded by DoH

The Department of Health has today reported one further coronavirus related death.

The death occurred within the current reporting period, says the DoH.

According to the latest update from the Department, the death toll now stands at 2,145.

Friday's dashboard also reports a further 108 positive cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of positive cases to 120,195 since the start of the pandemic.

Over the past seven days, the Department said 653 individuals have tested positive in Northern Ireland.

There are currently 60 Covid-19 confirmed patients in hospital and eight in intensive care.

Meanwhile, pubs, restaurants and retail premises all open their doors to the public for the first time today since pre-Christmas 2020.

Restaurants and pubs across the country can serve food and alcohol to customers outdoors whilst all non-essential retail can also reopen.

Gyms, swimming pools and self-contained tourist accommodation can also open from today but if you're thinking of a staycation you must not mix with another household, only single households permitted per accommodation.
