Covid NI: No further deaths and 528 coronavirus cases reported

The Department of Health has recorded no further coronavirus-related deaths.

Today's update also reports a further 528 positive cases of Covid-19.

2,127,703 vaccines administered in total in Northern Ireland, according to figures released on Monday.

A full update will be given by the Department of Health on Wednesday, July 14.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland's temporary "vaccine passport" scheme is experiencing "very high demand", the Department of Health said.

The interim scheme opened last Friday and thousands have applied and on July 9, Stormont officials said to date 2,062 applications have been processed and issued out for collection.

The application process for the interim documentation includes cross-checking with details given when vaccine appointments were booked.

In a statement, the DoH said: "We’re continuing to work at pace through applications, prioritising by travel departure date and for those travelling to countries where vaccination proof is required to gain entry and no alternative means of entry is accepted."

In a further statement, the department said Northern Ireland’s full vaccine certification scheme remains on track to be up and running by July 19.
