Covid NI: No further Covid-19 related deaths reported by DoH for second day

The Department of Health has reported no further coronavirus related deaths for the second day.

According to the latest update from the Department, the death toll in Northern Ireland remains at 2115.

Thursday's dashboard also reports a further 107 positive cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of positive cases to 117,396 since the start of the pandemic.

Over the past seven days, the Department say 915 individuals have tested positive in Northern Ireland.

There are currently 112 Covid-19 confirmed patients in hospital and 17 in intensive care.

Meanwhile, the Executive is meeting today to discuss the further lifting of restrictions which could see some retail open in mid April.

Have your say on the latest easing of lockdown restrictions here or below:

It is understood the paper being discussed by Executive members today details the possibility of reopening of some retailers, motor home dealers, car washes, garden centres and plant nurseries from April 12.

The BBC is reporting that the paper also looks at increasing the number of people allowed to attend funerals to 35.

It is also understood it examines sports training and suggests up to 15 people could be allowed to participate in training.

But, the next review of restrictions by the Executive is due to take place on April 15, so the BBC is reporting it is possible the changes could be delayed until then.
