Covid NI: NI Executive agrees changes to hospitality and wedding table numbers

The Northern Ireland Executive has agreed further relaxations to Covid restrictions.

According to the BBC, from Monday there will no longer be a rule of six at tables in hospitality venues.

This is understood to also apply to weddings.

It's been reported on Thursday that there will be no limit on number of people you can have in your garden.

Conferences and exhibitions are also reported to have been given the green light to resume.

The BBC have reported that social distancing indoors and the use of face coverings will not yet be scrapped as a legal requirement.

First Minister Michelle O'Neill said these regulations will be looked at again in September.

Also on Thursday, changes to self-isolation rules were reported.

Ministers examined a proposal on to bring regulations into line with the rest of the UK, meaning people who are deemed close-contacts with positive Covid-19 cases will no longer have to isolate for 10 days if they test negative and are fully vaccinated.

This is believed to come into force from next week and will also apply to schools.

It's understood the Executive has agreed to drop bubbles in schools, but face coverings are to be worn in post-primary classes during the first six weeks of term, which is subject to review.
