Covid NI: Fewer than 60 people test positive in past 24 hours

There have been three further Covid-19 related deaths, according to the Department of Health.

The department says that in the past 24 hours there have been 57 new positive cases of coronavirus.

Following the three most recent deaths, the death toll from the virus in Northern Ireland now stands at 2,121.

It comes as the vaccine rollout continues its momentum with the SSE Arena mass vaccination centre targeting 20,000 doses of the jab this week.

It is hoping that it will be administering 40,000 jabs per week very soon.

Almost one million vaccines have been given out in Northern Ireland so far during the lockdown, with over 750,000 of these being first jabs.

Currently those aged 45 and over are eligible to book their vaccine.

Booking where possible should be done online at: https://covid-19.hscni.net/get-vaccinated.

If online booking is not possible, then the telephone booking number is 0300 200 7813.

Those eligible for vaccination also have the option of waiting for their GP to contact them to arrange their jab.
