Covid NI: Fewer than 140 new coronavirus cases recorded in past 24 hours

There have have been two further Covid-19 related deaths recorded according to the Department of Health.

The department's daily dashboard says there has been one death in the past 24 hours from the virus and another that took place outside of the reporting period.

It brings the death toll from coronavirus in Northern Ireland to 2,057, the DoH says.

In the past 24 hours, there have been 138 new positive cases and 1,551 in the past seven days.

Belfast has had the largest increase in cases in the past day with 35, followed by Antrim and Newtownabbey with 13 and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon and Mid and East Antrim have both recorded 12.

In the past week, Belfast has had the most new cases with 338 followed by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon with 215 and Mid Ulster with 158.

There care currently 302 inpatients in hospital with the virus, with 273 having been admitted in the past 14 days. During the same period 499 patients were discharged.

In Northern Ireland's intensive care units there are 34 Covid patients with 29 using ventilators.

To date, 112,631 individuals have tested positive for the virus.
