Covid negative report or vaccine status mandatory to enter Dakshina Kannada

MANGALURU: Mangaluru City Police and Dakshina Kannada District Police have made surveillance stricter at interstate borders as per the directions of Karnataka home minister Basavaraj Bommai, who held a video conference with officials on Tuesday.

Both police units implemented additional measures to check interstate movement on Kerala – Karnataka borders in the district.

Police officials from the Mangaluru City police introduced strict surveillance at the border in Talapady, Mangaluru Central Railway Station and Mangaluru Junction Railway Station. Meanwhile, Dakshina Kannada Police deployed personnel at 10 interstate check posts to check movement of people as per Covid-19 guidelines.

People arriving via Talapady, Saradka, Salethoor, Kanyana, Menala, Swarga, Sulliapadavu, Murooru, Mandekolu, Badddadka and Kannadithodu are allowed to enter Dakshina Kannada only if they produce vaccination certificate or RT-PCR negative report. Arrangements also have been made to conduct RAT/ RT-PCR tests at the check posts.
