COVID negative report or complete vaccination mandatory to enter Himachal

Given the rising case of COVID in the country, Himachal Pradesh has made COVID report or full vaccination mandatory for those wanting to visit the hill state. The Himachal government made the announcement that an RT-PCR report not older than 72 hours is mandatory for anyone who wishes to enter the state. The state government will also accept Rapid Antigen Test not older than 24 hours.

State health minister Rajiv Saizal said that it was imperative to take the decision in order to protect the lives of the people from the virus. Those wanting to get in the state will have to show a minimum of 72 hours old RT-PCR test report.

He added, “A person who has got both the jabs of Covid-19 vaccine can also be allowed to enter the state". Also, the tourists who have entered Himachal Pradesh a day before the announcement are taking extra precautions.

Meanwhile, after Himachal reopened its borders for tourism, a huge rush of tourists was seen in the region. The hill state had shut its borders due to rising cases of Delta infections. But the borders were reopened soon after the COVID condition got better in the country. The state government said that tourists can enter without any RT PCR test and soon after, tourists from all over rushed in.

But now, the government has once again made RT PCR test report mandatory for tourists. According to the State Health Department, Himachal’s 75 percent population has already taken the first jab of the vaccine.
