Covid infections fall slightly in one Liverpool City Region area

One area of the Liverpool City Region has seen a little drop in Covid infections.

According to the latest data from Public Health England, Knowsley had 553 Covid cases in the seven days ending November 18 - that is five fewer cases than over the previous seven days.

This meant the week on week percentage change figure decreased by just 1% in Knowsley.

The Liverpool City Region's five other individual areas saw rises in the week on week percentage change figures. The increases were: Liverpool had a 7% rise, Halton had a 2% rise, St Helens had a 14% rise, Sefton had a 1% rise and Wirral had a 10% rise.

In the Liverpool City Region as a whole, the week on week percentage change figure rose by 6%.

West Lancashire recorded a fall. And Cheshire West and Chester, and Warington both recorded rises in Covid infections.

In England as a whole, there was a rise in positive Covid tests in the week ending November 18. There were 236,197 coronavirus cases in England - that's 28,983 more cases than in the previous seven days.

Liverpool

Liverpool's positive tests came to 1,522 cases in the week ending November 18, which is 104 more cases than in the previous week.

This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure increased by 7%.

The latest infection rate was 304.1 cases per 100,000 people.

Halton

There were 553 positive tests over the last week, which is eight more cases than in the previous week.

This means the week-on-week percentage change figure increased by 2% in the week ending November 18.

The latest infection rate is 426.2 cases per 100,000 people.

Knowsley

There was a total of 553 cases in the week ending November 18, which is five fewer cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 362.7 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases decreased by 1% week on week.

Wirral

There were 1,209 positive tests in the week ending November 18, which is 110 more cases than in the previous week.

Wirral's week-on-week percentage change figure increased by 10%. The latest infection rate was 372.8 cases per 100,000 people.

Sefton

There was a total of 1,106 cases in the week ending November 18, which is nine more cases than in the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 400.9 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases increased by 1% week on week.

Liverpool City Region

There were 5,746 positive tests over in the week ending November 18, which is 326 more cases than in the previous week.

This means the week on week percentage change increased by 6%. The latest infection rate is 337.46 cases per 100,000 people.

West Lancs

West Lancashire recorded 437 coronavirus cases in the week ending November 18, which is 15 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.

This meant there was a week on week percentage figure decrease of 3% in infections. The infection rate was 381.67 per 100,000 people.

Warrington

There were 806 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending November 18, which is 34 more cases than the previous week.

The week on week percentage figure increased by 4%. There was an infection rate of 384.91 per 100,000 people.

Cheshire West and Chester

There were 1,684 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending November 18, which is 455 more cases than the previous week.

The latest infection rate is 489.79 cases per 100,000 people, and there was a week on week percentage increase of 37% in cases.

England

In England in the week ending November 18, there was an infection rate of 417.68 per 100,000 people.

The nation recorded 236,197 coronavirus cases, which is 28,983 more cases than in the previous seven days.

There was a week on week percentage increase of 14% in cases.
