Covid infection rates falling fastest in Knowsley and dropping in all City Region areas

The Covid-19 infection rates are down week on week in every part of the Liverpool City Region and in the areas close to the Mersey conurbation area.

According to the latest data from Public Health England , in the LCR the rates are falling fastest in Knowsley.

In Knowsley, the rate per 100,000 people is 46.4 for the week ending March 13. There were 70 cases in the last week, which is 24 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 25.1%.

In Wirral, the rate per 100,000 people is 39.8 for the week ending March 13. There were 129 cases in the last week, which is 34 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 20.9%.

In Sefton, the rate per 100,000 people is 56.4 for the week ending March 13. There were 156 cases in the last week, which is 38 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 19.6%.

In Halton, the rate per 100,000 people is 56.4 for the week ending March 13. There were 73 cases in the last week, which is 11 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 13.1%.

In Liverpool, the rate per 100,000 people is 51.8 for the week ending March 13. There were 258 cases in the last week, which is 29 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 10.1%.

In St Helens, the rate per 100,000 people is 78.6 for the week ending March 13. There were 142 cases in the last week, which is 11 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 7.2%.

In the overall LCR, the rate per 100,000 people is 48.6 for the week ending March 13. There were 828 cases in the last week, which is 147 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 15.1%.

The rates have dropped in Local Government Areas close to the Mersey conurbation area, including in Warrington, West Lancashire, and Cheshire West and Chester.

In Warrington, there is an infection rate of 69.0 for the week ending March 13. There were 145 cases in Warrington in the last week, which is 29 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 16.7%.

In West Lancashire, there is an infection rate of 87.4 for the week ending March 13. There were exactly 100 cases in West Lancashire in the last week, which is 4 (four) fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 3.8%.

In Cheshire West and Chester, there is an infection rate of 60.3 for the week ending March 13. There were 207 cases in Cheshire West and Chester in the last week, which is 6 (six) fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 2.8%.

In England, there is an infection rate of 58.14 for the week ending March 13. There were 32,724 cases in England in the last week, which is 1,291 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 3.8%.
