The Liverpool City Region has recorded a fall in Covid infections.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, the Liverpool City Region recorded 5,088 positive tests in the week ending August 18 - 196 fewer cases than the previous seven days.
This means the week on week percentage change decreased by 4% in the city region.

In individual areas of the city region, only Halton saw a week on week percentage change rise, with a 1% increase.
In Wirral, the week on week percentage change neither increased or decreased, and it was recorded as 0%.
The other four areas recorded decreases in the week on week percentage change: In Knowsley, it dropped by 10%; in Liverpool, it dropped by 6%; in St Helens, it dropped by 5%, and; in Sefton, it dropped by 0.2%.
Infections increased in Cheshire West and Chester, Warrington, and West Lancashire - with the week on week percentage change increases being recorded as 12%, 18% and 11% respectively.
Infections increased in England. In the week ending August 18, the country had 183,099 coronavirus cases, which is 9,529 more cases than the week before.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 1,719 cases in the week ending August 18, which is 102 fewer cases than in the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change decreased by 6%.
The latest infection rate was 343.5 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 404 positive tests over the last week, which is two more cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change increased by 1% in the week ending August 18. The latest infection rate is 311.3 cases per 100,000 people.
Knowsley
There was a total of 551 cases in the week ending August 18, which is 62 fewer cases than in the previous week.
The latest infection rate is 361.4 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases decreased by 10% week on week.
Wirral
There were 934 positive tests in the week ending August 18, which is neither a rise or fall in cases than in the previous week. Wirral's week-on-week percentage change stood at 0%. The latest infection rate was 288.0 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There were 640 positive tests in the week ending August 18, which is 32 fewer cases than in the previous week.
The latest infection rate was 353.4 cases per 100,000 people. The week-on-week percentage change in St Helens decreased by 5%.
Sefton
There was a total of 840 cases in the week ending August 18, which is two fewer cases than in the previous week.
The latest infection rate is 304.5 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases decreased by 0.2% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 5,088 positive tests over in the week ending August 18, which is 196 fewer cases than in the previous week.
This means the week on week percentage change decreased by 4%. The latest infection rate is 298.81 cases per 100,000 people.
West Lancs
West Lancashire recorded 316 coronavirus cases in the week ending August 18, which is 30 more cases than in the previous seven days.
This mean there was a week on week percentage increase of 11% in infections.
The infection rate was 275.99 per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 764 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending August 18, which is 116 more cases than the previous week.
The week on week percentage figure increased by 18%. There was an infection rate of 364.86 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 1,022 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending August 18, which is 108 more cases than the previous week.
The latest infection rate is 297.24 cases per 100,000 people, and there was a week on week percentage increase of 12% in cases.
England
In England in the week ending August 18, there was an infection rate of 323.78 per 100,000 people.
The nation recorded 183,099 coronavirus cases, which is 9,529 more cases than in the previous seven days.
There was a week on week percentage increase of 6% in cases.
