The HSE have confirmed that 1,842 tests for Covid-19 were carried out in 108 schools in the week from 7-13 March.
The number of cases in that spell across all schools was 44 which is a positivity rate of 2.4%, according to the HSE report.
This figure is higher than the week before that when 529 tests took place with six cases found for a positivity rate of 1.1%.
Tests took place at 65 primary, 37 post-primary and six special education schools last week.
The report states that 62 cases were found in childcare facilities in that time period which represents a positivity rate of 11.3%.
In full, the HSE says 551 tests were done across 35 childcare faciliites.
This also represents a rise on the week before where 488 tests were carried out on 37 facilities with 43 cases found, which is positivity rate of 8.8%.
The reports says there were 888 Covid-19 cases in children aged 0-19 in week 10.

There were 220 confirmed cases in the 0-4 age bracket which represents 0.1% of that age group.
In the 5-12 group, there were 352 confirmed cases.
In the 13-18 age group , there were 316 confirmed cases.
There is also detail in the report about close contact testing which took place in educational and childcare facilities.
Figures show that 2,625 tests were done on 118 schools since the phased reopening of schools on 8 of February and 13 March.
The figures include 65 primary, 40 post primary, and 13 special education schools.

Cases found in all schools was 61, which is positivity rate of 2.3%.

The report reveals that it features resulted data only, where the virus is detected or not detected.
It's doesn't include tests that are pending or inavllid which accounts for the differences in the complete totals.
The figures also demonstrate that 4,531 tests took place in 254 childcare facilities from 4 January to 13 March.
Positive cases found was 486, or 10.7%.
Meanwhile, there were 4,038 tests where the coronavirus wasn't found.
