Covid: Four more deaths and 442 new cases recorded in Bristol region

Coronavirus has claimed four more lives in the Bristol region, the latest data shows.

At least one person has died within 28 days of a positive Covid test in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.

There have also been 442 further infections confirmed in the region.

Two more Covid-related deaths have been confirmed in South Gloucestershire, one more in Bristol and one more in North Somerset.

Bristol recorded the most new cases with 239, bringing the total number of cases in the city to 59,020.

South Gloucestershire saw 108 new infections, and North Somerset 95.

UK wide, 122 more Covid-related deaths have been recorded and 31,348 further cases.

That brings the total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic to 136,105 and total number of cases to 7,631,233.

The number of positive test results in each area since the pandemic began is recorded below, with new positive test results in brackets.

  • Bristol: 59,020 (+239)

  • South Gloucestershire: 29,969 (+108)

  • North Somerset: 19,432 (+95)

The number of deaths recorded in the Bristol region since the beginning of the pandemic are as follows:

  • Bristol: 528 (+1)

  • South Gloucestershire: 376 (+2)

  • North Somerset: 331 (+1)
