COVID forces another ALM postponement

Macarthur FC's ALM clash with Western United has been postponed due to more COVID-19 concerns. (AAP)

The ongoing COVID outbreak has created further fixture chaos for the A-League Men's competition with Friday's match between Macarthur FC and Western United postponed.

The Bulls announced on Monday the match at Campbelltown Stadium had been called off due to "ongoing restrictions in relation to COVID-19".

It deepens the scheduling drama for league organisers with just three matches having been played this year due to outbreaks at various clubs.

Both Macarthur and Western haven't played in 2022 with their last matches being defeats to Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory respectively on Boxing Day.

Last weekend just two matches were played with Victory and Adelaide United drawing 1-1 on Saturday before Western Sydney and Melbourne City shared the spoils in a thrilling 3-3 draw on Sunday.

Friday's postponement means five fixtures are now scheduled for this weekend with an F3 derby between Central Coast and Newcastle kicking off the action on Saturday.
