Covid figures today Scotland: 1,128 new cases overnight with 37 further deaths recorded

A total of 1,128 new coronavirus cases have been reported across Scotland in the last 24 hours.

The new cases represent 7.1 per cent of all of the tests carried out for Covid-19 yesterday.

Out of the new cases reported today, 117 are in the Lothians, with a further 416 in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 266 in Lanarkshire and 121 in Ayrshire and Arran.

The other cases are split amongst the other nine health board areas.

Hospital admissions have also seen an increase of 35 since yesterday, with 1152 patients now being treated for the virus.

86 patients are also in intensive care units, an increase of one since Wednesday.

Sadly, the First Minister also reported 37 further deaths in the last 24 hours.

It comes as Nicola Sturgeon reveals the levels of coronavirus restrictions to be placed on each of Scotland's 32 local council areas.
