PUNE: The number of daily Covid-19 cases dropped to 105 in the Pune Metropolitan Region on Monday, which is its single-day least count since December 20 last year when 93 people had tested positive.
Besides, no fatality due to Covid-19 was recorded in the region in the last 24 hours — a second in the last seven days alone.
The PMC areas added 44 new cases, while the PCMC limits and the rural areas recorded 30 and 31 cases, respectively, in the last 24 hours.
As many as 8,964 samples were tested for the infection in PMR on Monday, including 4.264 from PCMC limits and 2,649 from the PMC areas.
With this, the day’s positivity rate for PMR stood at 1.17%.
A report released by district health officer Bhagwan Pawar stated that 240 patients recovered in the region on Monday.
The count of active patients further dropped to 2,177 in PMR on Monday evening, including 1,895 patients in home isolation.
