Covid curfew to be eased in 11 Andhra Pradesh districts from July 8

VIJAYAWADA: The government has decided to relax Covid curfew by four hours in 11 districts of the state from July 8. The new curfew timings would be from 10 pm to 6 am — it was 6 pm to 6 am earlier. However, shops and establishments, including theatres, restaurants and others would have to close by 9 pm.

In East and West Godavari districts, the curfew timings would be relaxed for two just hours as the daily positivity rate is still high there. The non-curfew timings would be 6 am to 7 pm in the two districts. Shops and establishments will close by 6 pm till further orders.

The government has also given relaxation to restaurants, hotels, function halls, gyms, shopping malls, etc. Wearing masks would be compulsory at all these public places. Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who took the decision to relax curfew timings after a review meeting on Covid-19 situation, held prolonged discussions with senior officials and ministers on the steps being taken to contain the spread of the viruss
