Covid, common cold or hayfever - How to tell the difference between symptoms

This months, hayfever symptoms are set to soar as we enter the pollen season spelling disaster for 20% of the population with allergies.

During the pandemic, many people may be concerned their allergy symptoms could actually be a sign of Covid-19 infection.

To help clear up the confusion, ColdZyme has created a handy chart, revealing the key differences between hayfever, the common cold and coronavirus.

The chart reveals that allergies, colds, and Covid-19 tend to share three key symptoms - a cough, loss of smell and headaches.

However, the chart also highlights three key signs that you’re suffering from an allergy or a cold - and this includes sneezing and a runny nose.

Meanwhile, if you have a fever, aches and pains and fatigue, it's more likely you are suffering from Covid-19.

According to the NHS, the main three coronavirus symptoms are a high temperature, a new continuous cough and a loss of smell or taste.

Most people with coronavirus have at least one of these symptoms and should self-isolate at home.

Meanwhile, the NHS lists sneezing and coughing, a runny or blocked nose, itchy red or watery eyes and itchy throat, mouth, nose and ears as the main symptoms of hayfever.

Loss of smell, pain around your temples and forehead, headache, earache and feeling tired are also listed as symptoms by the NHS.
