Covid caution: Bhopal Municipal Corporation steps up disinfection of public places

BHOPAL: Despite a drop in Covid-19 infection, Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has stepped up its preventive and strategic method. “There is no foolproof method to tackle the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, however sanitization has a central role to play in curbing infection spread,” said a BMC official.

BMC has fogging machines and tractor mount sprinklers and at the zone level. 19 zones cover residential areas, markets along with fumigation of offices and through manual spray machines.

BMC has contracted more than 20 larger vehicle mounted machines. Hand held and vehicle mounted fogging machines spray disinfectant into the air as aerosol. According to experts the effectiveness of the generator depends on the particle size, humidity and contact time of disinfectant.

On Sunday, spray machines were deployed at 74 Bungalows, 45 Bungalows, Shymala Hills, Char Imli, Banjari Hills, Danapani, E-7 Arera Colony, Board Office Colony, Rohit Nagar, Bawdiyakala, Geetanjali Complex, Sanjay Complex, Kotra, Ambedkar Nagar, Barkheda Pathani, Vijay Nagar, Rajendra Nagar, Kammu ka Bagh, Chandbad, Regiment Road, Kabitarpura, Kumharpura, Shahjehanabad among other locations. BMC also under took, santisation acticity at Hamidia Hospital, including the main roads and nearby market areas.
