COVID cases rise in Delhi: Symptoms and preventive measures one must be aware of

Delhi recorded 63 cases of COVID on Wednesday. This is the highest daily number since May last year. As per the data from the Union Health Ministry, Rajasthan has seen an increase in cases, with 226 reported in the last 15 days compared to 96 and 27 in the previous two fortnights.

COVID symptoms

As per doctors, the common symptoms seen in patients who are infected with coronavirus are high fever, cough, cold, loss of smell, pneumonia like symptoms, and eye infection. While most of the symptoms are mild and patients recover within 7 days, doctors have urged people to follow preventive measures.

How to prevent COVID?

Preventing COVID-19 involves a combination of personal hygiene practices, vaccination, and adherence to public health guidelines:

Hygiene: Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after being in public spaces, touching surfaces, or coughing/sneezing. Use hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol when handwashing facilities are unavailable.

Masks: Wear a mask properly, covering both nose and mouth, especially in crowded or indoor settings where social distancing may be challenging. Follow local guidelines regarding mask mandates.

Social distancing: Maintain physical distance from individuals outside your household, particularly in crowded areas. Avoid close contact with sick individuals and stay home if feeling unwell.

Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation in indoor spaces by opening windows and doors whenever possible to reduce the concentration of airborne particles.

Stay informed: Stay updated on COVID-19 developments and follow guidance from reputable health authorities. Be cautious of misinformation and rely on credible sources for information.

Travel precautions: Limit non-essential travel, especially to areas with high transmission rates. Follow travel advisories and quarantine requirements as necessary.

By practicing these preventive measures consistently and encouraging others to do the same, individuals can contribute to controlling the spread of COVID and protecting themselves and their communities.
