Covid cases in West Lothian continue to plummet

West Lothian is continuing to fight back against coronavirus after just 32 new infections were discovered over the last seven days.

There were just three newly reported cases from the end of last week according to the latest data from Public Health Scotland and the county's Covid-19 positive rate per 100,000 population has more than halved in just a week.

Covid-19 has been suppressed in the majority of neighbourhoods in West Lothian.

Infection rates are at their lowest in months and five of the county's 37 neighbourhoods are still recording any cases while no area has more than six.

And up until April 26, some 89,587 people had received their first dose of the vaccine - 60.7 per cent - while 28,293 people had received their second dose of the vaccine (19.2 per cent).
