On December 31st, 2021 coronavirus self-isolation guidance for Wales changed again.
If you test positive for Covid-19, you must isolate for 10 days. However, the isolation period can be cut to seven days if a person has a negative lateral flow on days six and seven (or any two consecutive days following).
With so many testing positive recently, people have relied on the NHS Covid-19 App to help with their isolation dates as Track and Trace deal with growing demand.

However, the app does not reflect the new legislation which allows people to test out of isolation.
Wales' Track and Trace App is the same as England's, however, England has received the update to reflect the new rules while Wales still hasn't.
Officials say the delays are due to "thorough testing", as well as translation of the content into 12 languages "including Welsh".
Until then, it's added that the countdown can be used to remind users to have extra caution after leaving isolation.
For the time being, users have noted that deleting and redownloading the app clears any self-isolation countdowns.
A UK Health Security Agency spokesperson said: “The NHS Covid-19 app has an important role to play in our response to the Omicron variant, by letting people know if they have been in contact with a positive case of Covid-19 and providing advice to help reduce the risk of passing it on to others.
"It is fast, easy, anonymous, and the only way to know whether you are at risk of infection from someone you don’t know.
"Changes to the app have been made to reflect latest self-isolation guidance in England and we are working with our Welsh Government partners to ensure the app reflects the latest guidance for users in Wales. We expect these updates to take effect in the next few days.
"Given the speed with which policy can change and differ between UK countries during a pandemic, updates to the app sometimes need to follow at a later date to allow for build and thorough testing as well translation into 12 languages, including Welsh. We do everything we can to minimise this delay.”
