Taking to twitter, Mr. Gandhi also tagged his August 14 tweet where he had asked the Centre to come up with an “inclusive and equitable vaccine access policy”.
“A fair and inclusive vaccine access strategy should have been in place by now. But there are still no signs of it. GOI’s unpreparedness is alarming,” Mr. Gandhi said on Twitter.

However, in his Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made it clear that the government was prepared to mass produce and distribute the vaccines, three of which are under different stages of trials, once the scientists give the go ahead.
“The road map for its production and distribution among Indians is also ready,” Mr. Modi said.
A day earlier, Mr. Gandhi tweeted, “India will be one of the COVID-19 vaccine-producing nations. It needs a clearly-defined, inclusive & equitable vaccine access strategy ensuring availability, affordability & fair distribution. GOI must do it now.”
