Covid-19: Vaccination to resume in Ernakulam today

KOCHI: Covid vaccination through local bodies will resume at 9am on Tuesday. Covishield vaccine is available and there will be facility for spot registration.

Ernakulam on Monday reported 2,029 Covid positive cases. Test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 12.92% on Monday. Two guest workers, 12 INHS staff and five healthcare workers are also among the new positive cases. Highest cases of the day were reported from Kuttambuzha with 112 followed by Thrikkakara (80) and Vengoor (74).

Meanwhile, the district-level captive elephant welfare committee meeting on Monday decided to give permission from taluk level to parade elephants in festivals in Ernakulam, in view of the Covid-19 situation. It is the collectorate that usually gives permission for the purpose. Currently, permission is given only to parade elephants inside the temples for performing rituals.
