Covid-19: Telangana records 405 cases, 3 deaths

HYDERABAD: Telangana recorded 405 new Covid-19 cases and three deaths on Monday even as the number of active cases in the state stood at 7,093.

The total count of cases since the beginning of the pandemic last year stands at 6,52,785 and the death toll stands at 3,845.

The number of active containment zones in the state stood at 20.

Jagtiyal, Karimnagar and Nalgonda have majority of the active containment zones in the state.

A total of 577 patients were declared recovered on Monday, taking the total count of recovered patients to 6,41,847.

The case fatality rate (CFR) stands at 0.58 percent while the recovery rate stood at 98.32 percent now.

So far 79.8 percent of overall cases in the state have been asymptomatic while 20.2 percent have been symptomatic.

On Monday, 84,262 samples were tested for the novel coronavirus.

Telangana has now completed testing 2.34 crore samples and has reached 6.30 lakh sample testing per million population.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 67 cases on Monday, while neighbouring Medchal Malkajgiri recorded 24 cases, Ranga Reddy recorded 19 and Sanga Reddy recorded 2 cases.

Outside of Hyderabad city and its outskirts, Karimnagar recorded the highest number of cases with 32 new cases being recorded on Sunday while Jangaon, Peddapalli, Yadadri Bhongir, Warangal Urban and Khammam saw more cases.
