COVID-19 Saturday update: North Coast couple among 15 new cases in NSW

A North Coast couple are among 15 new cases of coronavirus diagnosed in NSW in the most recent 24-hour reporting period.

In its latest update on Saturday morning, NSW Health said the North Coast couple were among four cases associated with "a series of funeral gatherings and a church service attended by a woman in her 40s from the Fairfield area" who was diagnosed earlier this week.

The two other cases were a couple in their 50s and 60s from Sydney.

There were no new cases in Port Stephens or the broader Hunter Region.

More than 30,500 tests were conducted in the period.

There are now 140 active cases in NSW, including two in Lake Macquarie and three in Port Stephens.

Of the 15 new cases identified in the 24 hours to 8pm on Friday, eight are associated with the Thai Rock restaurant cluster, one case is under investigation and six are returned travellers in hotel quarantine.

There were no new cases linked to the Crossroads Hotel cluster.

There are now 60 cases associated with the Thai Rock restaurant, 56 cases associated with the Crossroads Hotel cluster, and eight cases associated with the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club.
