KALYAN: Addressing party workers during the rally in Dombivli, state housing minister Jitendra Awhad on Sunday said that people should not take the third wave of Covid-19 lightly and instructed them to be vigilant but at the program, NCP party workers themselves were seen not following social distancing.
In the program, hundreds of party workers were seen violating social distancing norms and many of them even were without masks.
Awhad on Sunday had come to Dombivli to inaugurate NCP's party office because of the upcoming Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation election.
After office inauguration, addressing party workers, Awhad said, "The people should not take the third wave of coronavirus lightly because it is very dangerous and people should be more vigilant".
Awhad further said, "The country like Israel which is 100% vaccinated is also facing the third wave".
"The new variants of Covid-19 are very dangerous but good thing is that country like America and England where the third wave has come due to vaccination has witnessed low seriousness", said Awhad.
As per Jagganath Shinde, Kalyan District president of the NCP, around 500 party workers were present during a successful rally in Dombivli.
