A Newcastle bar has blamed Covid-19 restrictions after announcing it is closing "until further notice".
As You Like It posted it was shutting on Tuesday, the same day Boris Johnson announced major new national restrictions to curb the spread of the virus.
They include a 10pm curfew for pubs, bars and restaurants. Last week, two million people in the North East were also urged not to visit pubs with friends and family who they don't live with.
However in a Facebook post, the Jesmond venue - which also hosts weddings - said the restrictions were "hitting the hospitality industry hard again".
"Just when we thought we were getting back on our feet, we now need to make further changes," stated the post.
"We are sorry to share that from today we will be closing As You Like It until further notice. "
It is the latest Newcastle venue to close due to the impact of the virus.
Award-wining sandwich shop Kracklin announced in August that it would not renew its lease due to impact of the virus on the city centre.
And recently the Brownie Bar's unit in Eldon Gardens closed. Management said it was "time to bow out" of the city centre given the current climate.
As You Like It's sister venues, The Holy Hobo and Beach Box, will remain open while it has assured customers who had a wedding booked that staff will "be in touch".
However customers spoke of their sadness at the news. One wrote: "Got married there last year and it was the most amazing day.
"The staff are just amazing and my heart goes out to them in these awful times."
