Covid-19 Northern Ireland: One further death in the past 24 hours

There has been one further Covid-19 related death according to the Department of Health.

The department's daily dashboard says there have been 73 new positive tests for the virus in the past 24 hours and 695 in the past seven days.

The coronavirus death toll in Northern Ireland now stands at 2,143, following the most recent death which took place in the past day.

Mid Ulster has seen the largest increase in positive cases in the past 24 hours with 18, followed by Belfast with 13 and Antrim and Newtownabbey with nine.

In the past week Belfast has had the highest number of cases with 121, followed by Mid Ulster with 110 and Derry City and Strabane with 109.

There are 61 inpatients in hospital with the virus with five of these in intensive care and three using ventilators.

In Northern Ireland care and residential homes there are currently four active coronavirus outbreaks and there have been 650 since the start of the pandemic.

To date, 119,785 individuals have tested positive for the virus.
