Covid-19 Northern Ireland: 471 new cases in the past seven days

There has been one further death as a result of Covid-19 in the since Friday, according to the Department of Health.

The department's daily dashboard says that there has been 118 new infections in the past day, bringing the number of new cases in the past week to 471.

7,621 people have tested positive for the virus since the outbreak began.

There have now been 564 people who have passed away as a result of Covid-19 in Northern Ireland.

Belfast has seen the largest increase in the new cases in the past seven days, with 162. This is followed by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon with 76 and Lisburn and Castlereagh with 47.

Belfast has also seen the largest increase in infections in the past fortnight, with 303.

People aged 20 to 39 have had the most new positive tests in the last week, with 194 new cases. This is followed by people aged 40 to 59 with 133 and 0 to 19 with 102.

There are currently 17 inpatients in hospital with the virus and three are in intensive care and three on ventilators.

1,601 people have been admitted to hospital with the virus and 1,568 have been discharged.

There are 19 confirmed Covid-19 outbreaks in care or residential homes and five suspected ones.

There have been a total of 206 acute respiratory outbreaks in care or residential homes.

To date, 250,425 people have been tested for the virus.
