Covid-19 Northern Ireland: 19 further deaths recorded

There have been 19 further Covid-19 related deaths according to the Department of Health.

The department's daily dashboard says there have been 16 deaths in the past 24 hours and three that have taken place outside of the recording period.

This brings the Northern Irish death toll from the coronavirus to 1,850.

There have been 426 new positive tests in the past 24 hours and 3,811 in the past seven days.

Belfast has had the highest number of new cases in the past day with 69, followed by Mid Ulster with 54 and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon with 53.

In the past week, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon has had the highest infection rate, at 355.2 per 100,000 people.

There are currently 731 inpatients in hospital infected with Covid-19, with 888 admissions in the past 14 days. During the same period 1,158 people have been discharged.

In Northern Irish intensive care units, there are 69 patients with Covid-19 and 56 are using ventilators.

Hospitals are currently running at a 90 per cent bed occupancy rate with 306 unoccupied beds and 76 patients awaiting admission.

To date, 103,960 individuals have tested positive for the virus.
