Covid-19 Northern Ireland: 10 further deaths recorded by Department of Health

There have been 10 further Covid-19 related deaths, according to the Department of Health.

The department's daily dashboard says there have been six coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours and four that have taken place outside of the current reporting period.

This brings the death toll from the virus in Northern Ireland to 1,953, the DoH says.

There have been 275 new positive tests in the past 24 hours, with 2,685 being recorded in the past week.

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon has had the highest number of new infections in the past day with 51, followed by Mid Ulster with 47 and Belfast with 46.

There are 579 inpatients in hospital with Covid-19, with 661 having been admitted in the past 14 days. During the same period 1,039 people have been discharged.

There are 60 patients in intensive care with the virus and 57 of these are using ventilators.

Northern Ireland hospitals are running at 96 per cent bed capacity with 130 unoccupied beds.

To date, 107,438 individuals have tested positive for the virus.
