Covid-19 NI: Total of 121 people test positive in past 24 hours

There has been one further Covid-19 related death according to the Department of Health.

The Department's daily dashboard says that one person has died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the Northern Ireland death toll from the virus to 2,099.

There have also been 121 new positive cases in the past day, with 1,270 being recorded in the past week.

Belfast has seen the highest number of cases in the past 24 hours with 22, followed by Mid and East Antrim and Mid Ulster with 15.

In the past week Belfast has also had the most new infections with 262, followed by Mid Ulster with 131 and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon with 119.

There are currently 182 inpatients in hospital with Covid-19, with 170 being admitted in the past 14 days. During the same period 327 patients have been discharged from hospital.

There are 22 patients in intensive care with the virus and 16 of these are using ventilators.

In Northern Ireland care and residential homes there are 14 active Covid-19 outbreaks.

To date, 115,017 individuals have tested positive for coronavirus.
