COVID-19 Ireland updates as 1,380 cases announced amid jump in hospitalisations

A total of 1,380 new cases of COVID-19 have been announced in Ireland.

As of 8am today, 459 Covid patients are hospitalised, of which 74 are in ICU.

The number of patients in hospital jumped by 53 compared to yesterday, and the number of those in ICU increased by three.
