Covid-19 Ireland today: Exact location of cases as Cork sees surge

The country has seen another 859 new cases of coronavirus confirmed as it entered the first weekend of Level Five restrictions today.

Sadly, another four deaths from Covid-19 were confirmed in a statement by the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).

Along with the figures, a breakdown of where the cases have been recorded is often provided.

Up to midnight on Friday, 192 of the 859 cases were recorded in Dublin.

Some 148 were in Cork - up from 41 confirmed on Friday - 58 in Donegal, 55 in Galway and 54 in Meath (earlier incorrectly reported as Monaghan), with the other 352 cases were spread across 21 remaining counties.

Overall, it's an increase on Thursday, when 777 cases were recorded.

There were increases on Friday's figures for Dublin, Cork, Donegal, Kildare, Louth, Kerry, Waterford, Carlow, Mayo and Kilkenny, but decreases elsewhere.
