Over a thousand new coronavirus cases were confirmed around Ireland today.
The latest NPHET statement revealed 1,025 more Covid-19 cases across the country, with no further deaths.
Unfortunately, it shows an increase of infections in some areas, while many reported around the same amount of cases as Saturday.
Of those cases notified today, 255 are in Dublin, 147 in Cork, 77 in Galway, 54 in Kildare, 53 in Donegal and the remaining 439 cases are spread across 21 counties.
The Dublin number in particular is one of concern - it's well up on the 192 reported yesterday and sticking in the few hundreds well over a month after Level Three restrictions were introduced.
The latest incidence rate table is below.
Ordered by the rate, it shows Cavan has fallen slightly in cases per 100,000 people after nearing 1,000 yesterday.
The county has seen 736 cases in the past two weeks.
Meanwhile, Tipperary continues to be the best performing county in the country in terms of incident rate, but went from 7 cases reported on Saturday to 26 today.
Many counties have reported around the same amount of cases as Saturday, with a few notable exceptions: Dublin, from 192 to 255 today, Sligo from 11 to 22 today, Kildare from 35 to 54 today, Limerick from 32 to 45 today, Offaly from 3 to 15 today, Laois from 7 to 19 today, Wicklow from 7 to 16 today and Tipperary from 7 to 26 today.
The overall incidence rate for the country for the past two weeks is 307.5.
The lowest national 14-day incidence rate was on July 3, when the rate was 2.98 cases per 100,000 population.
