Partners will not be allowed in to a Dublin maternity hospital for the week 20-22 routine scan due to COVID-19 concerns.
The difficult decision has been taken by the Rotunda Hospital in response to the rapidly deteriorating coronavirus situation across the country.
Other interim visitor restrictions remain unchanged for now.
The "very difficult decision" was taken by the Rotunda today, and the restriction will start tomorrow.
"Due to the surge in community acquired COVID-19 infections and the move to Level 5 restrictions, the EMT have taken the very difficult decision to change our visiting policy," they said.
"From Tuesday 5th January, partners will no longer be able to attend for the routine 20-22 week anatomy scan.
"All other interim visiting arrangements will remain unchanged at this time."
Health officials announced 6,110 new cases of the coronavirus in Ireland today.
That brings the total number of cases in the country since the pandemic began to 117,197.
Sadly, there have also been six further deaths from COVID-19 in the country, public health officials confirmed this evening.
3,655 of today's new cases are located in Dublin.
