Covid-19 Ireland: Coronavirus claims one more life as three new cases confirmed

One  person has sadly died as a result of Covid-19 it has been announced.

Meanwhile just three new cases were confirmed today.

The figures were released by the National Public Health Emergency Team this evening.

There is now a total of 25,439 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

The HSE is working to identify any contacts the patients may have had to provide them with information and advice to prevent further spread.

Validation of data at the HPSC has resulted in the denotification of 1 confirmed case. The figure of 25,439 confirmed cases reflects this.

There has now been a total of 1,735 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.

They come are Phase 3 of reopening the country comes into effect tomorrow.

The country is reopening for the first time since March, as pubs, restaurants, cinemas, gyms, cultural venues and more welcome the public through their doors.

Contact sports will also resume as team leagues for adults and children will recommence, as will organised spectator events and fixtures.

Swimming pools, gyms, yoga studios and training facilities will also reopen on Monday.

Groups of up to 50 people can gather indoors, and up to 200 outdoors.

Churches will be able to hold worship services for up to 50 people, and friends and extended families can once again attend funerals.

Museums, cinemas and other cultural venues will reopen their doors to the public, as performances and movie showings can now resume, although all attendees and staff will have to maintain social distancing.
