Covid-19 Ireland cases today update with 358 new infections as 102 people in hospital

A total of 358 more people have tested positive for coronavirus in Ireland, while 102 patients are currently being treated in hospital.

While there are currently 39 people in ICUs across the country.

The latest figures were confirmed by the Department of Health this evening.

It comes after gardai warned against large groups meeting in outdoor gatherings in Ireland.

Inter-county travel is back but officers are still checking to ensure people are following the guidance issued by the Government.

Garda Info posted on Twitter: "An Garda Síochána continues to find large groups meeting in outdoor gatherings.

"These actions continue to put everybody’s health & our recovery from Covid-19 at risk.

"As the country starts to open up, it is great to get out and about again but we cannot afford to be complacent."

As Ireland is on the path to recovery, gardai are reminding the public to continue following the public health advice.

They have said that their high visibility patrols will continue.

An Garda Siochana Twitter posted: "Gardaí from Malahide garda Station were on late night patrol in the Malahide/Portmarnock over the weekend to help tackle anti-social behaviour as part of Operation Irene."

In Cork city, they said: "Please make the right choices ..

"An Garda Síochána continues to find large groups meeting in outdoor gatherings.

"These actions continue to put everybody’s health & our recovery from Covid-19."

Officers are encouraging people not to gather in large groups, maintain social distancing and follow public health regulations.

Deputy Commissioner, Policing and Security, Anne Marie McMahon previously said: "Please make the right choices.

"An Garda Siochana continues to find large groups meeting in outdoor gatherings.

"These actions continue to put everybody's health & our recovery from Covid-19 at risk.

"Thanks to the hard work and sacrifice of so many, all the Covid-19 indicators are going in the right direction.

"However, as society starts to open up again, we can't afford to be complacent.

"As we enjoy meeting up with more of our family and friends, and doing activities we haven't been able to do for a while, please remember not to gather in large groups.

"Please maintain social distancing.

"Please do not hold or attend house parties.

"And keep washing your hands."
