COVID-19 closes four Vic police stations

Four Victorian police stations have been closed to the public after COVID-19 cases among officers. (AAP)

Six Victorian police officers are in isolation and their stations closed to the public after they tested positive to coronavirus.

Caroline Springs, Melton, Keilor Downs and Sunshine police stations are now closed to the public and areas where they worked have undergone a deep clean.

The officers returned positive tests between September 17 and 19.

Police will still be working from the stations but the closure of their reception counters allow for more officers to be out on the road while others isolate.

Nearby police stations including Bacchus Marsh, Gisborne, Sunbury and Footscray will remain open to the public.
