Health authorities have confirmed a further 304 cases of COVID in Ireland today.
13 people who are COVID positive are in ICU.
A total of 47 patients with COVID-19 are currently in hospitals across the country.
The latest figures were announced by the Department of Health this evening.
Meanwhile publicans and restaurant owners said their lives and livelihoods will be ruined if indoor hospitality doesn’t resume on July 5 as planned due to the Delta variant.
Confusion has reigned as Taoiseach Micheal Martin admitted the next phase of reopening could be delayed until later in July amid rising concerns about the fast-spreading variant and a fourth wave of coronavirus.
It comes after another week of mixed messages with publicans and others in the hospitality industry given hope one minute - only to have it dashed the next.
He said the Government will follow public health advice if it is to delay the planned reopening of indoor hospitality in just 11 days’ time.
The Government will also follow advice from NPHET regarding household gatherings, weddings and larger indoor and outdoor events as the Delta variant continues to spread.
Publicans said they urgently need to know whether they can reopen for indoor services on July 5 as around 40 per cent of pubs will remain closed as they have no outdoor space.
